In Memory of Kugan Anand

"Let me not pray to be sheltered from dangers but to be fearless in facing them. Let me not beg for the stilling of my pain but for the heart to conquer it."
-Rabindarnath Tagore

Another day another death. What makes this death different from the rest? Here is a young 22 year old youth, who was denied justice. Kugan was mercilessly totured and killed by the very authorities who are supposed to protect us. Kugan followed the many others who have died whilst in police custody.

Our hearts bleed for Kugan and his family. May his soul rest in peace knowing that his death brought an awarness to this nation about the cruelty and injustices brought upon not only to him, but to many others before him by the inhumane actions by people in power.

His death has not gone in vain but will bring about a powerful repercussion. He should be given due respect and his funeral should go on with no form of disturbance. I ask of those who will be attending his funeral to practice restrain and to give him his due respect.

His final journey should take place with the utmost of dignity. We will have to leave it to nature to take its course. The law of karma will work on its own accord. All we need to do is to excercise patience and trust.
